I believe that students learn best when:
- They have a chance to use their dominant learning styles, unique intelligences, and preferred performance modes to convey and deepen their learning
- They are empowered to overcome personal handicaps, language barriers, and other various challenges to become fully engaged in the learning process
- They feel that their background and personal beliefs are respected and valued by the people in their learning community
- They have opportunities to reflect on and discuss who they are and what they believe in relation to the things they are learning
